Look at the picture, what does it remind you? To-do list at work or the one on the fridge door? Or the shopping list or clothes/plates piled up for a wash or papers stacked on the table that should be taken care of or the major responsibilities that you are holding on your shoulders?
This blog was to be published on International Women’s day and to be dedicated to all women. Though I missed the date and felt this topic is relevant on any day and posting it.
Yes, let us admit that we like to do everything, and all possible things at home, office, for our friends, relatives, neighbors or whosoever.
It’s often you get lost in the daily chores and a whole lot of commitments which you have accepted either voluntarily or due to the circumstances around. However, impacts remain the same.
It is quite common to hear from female friends, colleagues, and relatives, “I don’t have time, held up with too many things at home and work”, whenever we speak of exercise, hobby or any activities for entertainment and relaxation.
We tend to take up many things, out of emotion or social compulsion without really thinking much on the tasks or the feasibility of handling it. We may do all the pros and cons calculation when it comes to work or business, but we ignore all those rationales while handling the personal works.
You will never find time for anything. If you want time you must make it.
Charles Buxton
As the above quote says, you must make time for whatever you want. There is no perfect time waiting for you so that you could do the things that you are dreaming of. Postponing the meet up with friends and family, vacations, exercise, hobby time, self care, etc is quite easy. You could find many reasons to delay or avoid it. Don’t forget the fact that these little things play a major role in your well-being.
In the image, there are multiple stones stacked up one above another. You could consider them as different tasks or the different responsibilities you have taken or dear people in life whom you want to support. If you observe the picture, you could notice the importance of the base stone. Only strong base could hold all others stones and balance. So you are the base. If you want to handle everything in life, you cannot afford to neglect your well-being.
What can we do to get a little extra time, to get stronger, feel better and enjoy life? Is it a good idea to think before accepting all the work and responsibilities? Would you consider prioritizing the tasks and delegate the ones which are feasible to do? Maybe good to think about it, better late than never.
So for any balance you would like to achieve in your life, the base is you, remember to take care of yourself.
Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.
Albert Einstein

Too good..
Some times even if we have time we don’t have energy to do things for ourselves.. we need to start loving ourselves..

Yes, I agree with you. It is easy to miss out to do it for ourselves.
