Time has wonderful ways to show us what really matters!
Its been almost a year since I logged into WordPress.com to read or write! Hard to believe, but true. Life happened—too many things at once: varied interests, family needs, the decision to pursue a new career path and the preparations for it, lots of reading (fictional and philosophical books), along with thoughts on slowing down, practicing self-care, and trying not to push myself to do too much—and many more.
I recently read an article on Imposter Syndrome, a topic I wrote about long ago. It made me reflect deeply. Have I fallen victim to it? Is it causing me to procrastinate writing because I feel like I don’t practice what I preach? That may be true. Internal battles are harder than arguing, negotiating, or convincing someone else. It takes more time and patience to convince ourselves.
Today, while listening to James Clear, I decided to post a blog instead of waiting for the perfect idea or writing the perfect post.
2023 was a year that helped wash away the horrors of 2020–21 to some extent. However, climate-related issues, wars, and political unrest continued in various parts of the world. We may not have control over what’s happening around us, but we can work on ourselves—to help us, others, and the environment in whatever way possible.
Take time to have fun, enjoy the holiday season, and do a little introspection to understand how the year went—and look forward to the coming new year.
When you look back,
Think of it as a year of growth
Be proud of yourself,
You made it through the year
You are a better you,
No need to compare with anyone else
Take a deep breath,
Enter the new year with hope and confidence
